Bismarckism is a German invention. In the 19th Century Bismarck, chancellor of Germany who masterminded the unification of United Germany in 1871. Prior to this the German country was administered by different provinces who were also in conflict with each other.

The German education system complements the industry through an education system consisting of basic education at primary level or kindergarten, followed by secondary education. Public funded, the universities are completely free. This makes it an attractive place for foreign students. Most of the institutions are taught in German but there has been some change recently with more institution teaching both in German and English medium.
